In advance, I apologize for the duplicate posts. I had a brainstorm this morning: Instead of running two open orders, one for each food group, why not combine them? So, in that spirit, here goes…
Welcome to the Little Red Farm Stand blog! I have had a lot of fun working with my two oldest kiddos and creating this blog. Patrick (my 15 year old son) is the techy type and set the blog up. All the food photography is done by Brook Lynne (my 14 year old). I have enjoyed their company and appreciate their willingness to drop everything when I have an idea.
Little Red Farm Sand now has two food pick ups to choose from: our original Floresville pick up and a new pick up in San Antonio (78244 area code, near the 78 and IH 35). The pick ups will take place on alternating Thursdays. Pick up in Floresville will begin Thursday, June 2, from noon-4 pm. Pick up in San Antonio will begin on the following Thursday, June 9th, from noon-2 pm. If you need to pick up outside of normal pick up hours, special arrangements can be made for later in the day. However, we cannot hold produce at either location over night.
Click the link at the end of this post to order. Orders are due by midnight on Sunday, May 29th. Remember: your deposit must be equal to or greater than the amount you are ordering.
If you are not already a Little Red Farm Stand member, all the details for how to join Little Red Farm Stand and have access to our great prices can be found here.
Hopefully, I will have the order sheet printed out for you to check at pick up, meaning that I won’t have to check out every single person myself. My own sociable nature is doing me in! Not having me around has made pick up day tough on my kids. But, please, don’t hesitate to knock on the door if you need assistance.
Preferred payment method is either PayPal or personal check. You can bring cash if you want, but make sure and give it to me (don’t leave it in the zipper bag).
Now that the days are getting hotter, you will want to pick up your produce as early as you can to avoid wilt. When you arrive to pick up your order, don’t forget to get your greens out of the cooler. Eggs may or may not be in your bins, depending on the weather. If your eggs aren’t there, they will be on the table.
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, dairy pick up will be Tuesday instead of our usual Monday. I do not have the pick up time yet. Dairy will be ordered using a Google Form (this is different from the Google Sheet we use to order everything else). I have already emailed all of you the link. If you haven’t received it, let me know. If you are new to ordering dairy products, please text me your name and email address and I will send the Google form to you. From this point forward, all communications regarding dairy will be done via text message or email.
Free range chicken and pork are available again this drop. Prices are on the order form.
A new grassfed beef buy is in the works. You will be able to choose which specific cuts you want from the list of what I have available. Prices will be AMAZING! I do still have 20 lb. of grassfed ground beef left over from our last buy with 529 Meats available for $5/lb. If you are interested in any ground beef, text me or contact me via Facebook.
If all my kids remain well (we’ve had a tummy bug running through us this last couple of weeks), I plan to add some new items to the order form tomorrow. I am not entirely sure what they will be (I’m out of time to think about it today), but there will be something. I’m thinking maybe Dr. Bronner’s Soaps and a variety of organic pastas. I’m avoiding organic rice for now because my last two personal shipments have had bugs in them. Sheesh.
Finally, here’s the link for this period’s order:
