What does it look like when a stay-at-home-mom of 15 years with 9 children goes back to college?
Me (the mom) to my 14 year old daughter – Brook Lynne, I made you bean tacos for lunch.
Brook Lynne – Um, Mom, I’m allergic to bean tacos.
Me to my 3 year old daug- Lauren, I made you bean tacos for lunch. Go wash your hands.
Lauren – [insert adorable, high, squeaky toddler voice here] I already did.
Me – No, you didn’t. Go wash your hands and then get to the table and eat.
Lauren – Mmmmoooooommmmmm, I already did wash my hands [holding her hands up for me to look at them].
Me – Lauren! Go wash your tacos!
Nothing else needs to be said, right? What does it look like when a stay-at-home-mom of 15 years with 9 children goes back to college? I’m crazy out of my element here. Figuring out a schedule and routine that works for all of us isn’t coming easily, although I have no doubt I will arrive at it eventually. I’m certainly tired. But it’s a happy kind of tired. I started taking a different brand of nutritional supplements at the same time as I began classes. Because I have given birth to a baby every other year for 15 years, I have always taken good quality supplements. Since my last baby was born 13 months ago, I have had a bone-deep kind of fatigue that I haven’t been able to eliminate nutritionally speaking. The great news is that in spite of sleeping less and being crazy stressed trying to find my rhythm incorporating college into our schedule, the fatigue IS GONE! More on the new brand of supplements in a future blog post.
Back to homework now.
Love you guys and glad I get to share our story!
